هل سمعت عن دولفين إيراوادي من قبل؟ : تعرف على الدولفين الذي لا يشبه أي دولفين آخر!

قد يصعب تصديق أن هذا الكائن الغريب دولفين (مقارنة بالشكل الذي نألفه للدلافين) لكنه في الحقيقة أحد أنواع الدلافين التي تعرف باسم دولفين إيراوادي، وهو نوع مدهش يعيش في تجمعات منعزلة جنوب شرق آسيا.
اليوم سنلقي نظرة خاطفة على هذا النوع لنتعرف على دولفين لا يشبه أي دولفين آخر:

يصل طول دولفين إيراوادي إلى 2.3 متر ووزنه إلى 130 كيلوجرام، بينما يكون طوله عند الولادة 1 متر ووزنه 10 كيلوجرامات فقط، ويبلغ متوسط عمره 30 عاماً.
وعلى الرغم من أنه أخذ اسمه من نهر إيراوادي الذي يمتد من شمال لجنوب ماينمار (بورما) إلا أنه في الحقيقة دولفين محيطات، فيعيش في المياه المالحة بالقرب من السواحل ومصبات الأنهار.

يشبه دولفين إيراوادي للوهلة الأولى الحوت الأبيض فيتميز برأس كبيرة مستديرة وفمه ليس بارزاً كالمنقار كأغلب أنواع الدلافين، أما الزعنفة الظهرية فتوجد في الثلث الأخير من ظهره وهي صغيرة الحجم وقصيرة وبالكاد تظهر من جسده:

يملك دولفين إيراوادي زعانف طويلة وعريضة، ويتميز بألوان فاتحة عادةً وإن كان يغلب عليه اللون الأبيض في الجزء السفلي.
أما عن الغذاء فعادةً ما يأكل دولفين إيراوادي الأسماك الصغيرة وبيض الأسماك وبعض أنواع القشريات، وتبلغ سرعته حوالي 20-25 كيلومتر في الساعة (بطيء نسبياً).

يستخدم دولفين إيراوادي (كأغلب أنواع الدلافين) نظام اتصال فائق التطور فيتخاطب مع باقي أفراد مجموعته بترددات صوتية تبلغ 60 كيلوهرتز، ويعيش عادةً في مجموعات صغيرة بها أقل من 6 دلافين، وإن كانت قد شوهدت عدة مجموعات كبيرة منه معاً.

الغريب أن هذه الدلافين من الذكاء لدرجة أنها تعقد صفقات مع الصيادين المحليين في تلك المناطق، فعند إشارتهم تقوم هذه الدلافين بدفع الأسماك لشباك الصيادين، وتحصل في المقابل على بعض منها!!
لم يجري إحصاء دقيق لأعداد دولفين إيراوادي حتى الآن في الطبيعة، لكن ما تم تأكيد رصده حتى الآن هو 7,000 دولفين منها 5,800 قبالة سواحل بنجلاديش. وهذه خريطة بالأماكن التي يتواجد فيها:

تخضع هذه الدلافين للحماية الدولية ويقوم المجتمع الدولي ومنظمات حماية البيئة بالضغط على حكومات دول شرق آسيا لوضع تشريعات تجرم المتاجرة في هذه الدلافين، لكن مع ذلك لوحظ انخفاض أعداد هذه الدلافين عبر السنوات الماضية.
